Free Sewing & Basic Business Skills Development Program

We are excited to offer a Free Sewing and Basic Business Skills Development Program designed to empower women, refugees, immigrants, and community members through creativity, education, and entrepreneurship.

Our goal is to help participants develop practical skills that can lead to self-employment, income generation, and personal growth. The program also creates a supportive and welcoming environment where individuals can learn, connect, and share experiences.

Materials and sewing supplies will be provided free of charge.

Together, we create, communicate, and motivate communities through skill development and empowerment.

We successfully completed our workshop series from February to April, where we welcomed both new participants and returning students. Together, we created a safe and supportive space to learn sewing skills, while providing all necessary materials, sewing machines, notions, and extra fabric for continued practice at home.

Our mission goes beyond sewing—we are building connection. We are not only supporting immigrants and refugees, but also strengthening our broader community by bringing people together, encouraging understanding, and creating meaningful relationships.

This safe space has become a place not just for learning, but for sharing stories, culture, and kindness.

A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who dedicated their time and energy throughout the program. Your support made a real difference.

Ventures Beyond Borders (VBB) Bootcamp—an incredible opportunity designed to support entrepreneurs from refugee and immigrant backgrounds around the world.

VBB supports entrepreneurs globally by providing access to knowledge, mentorship, and resources needed to build successful and sustainable businesses. The VBB Bootcamp is a one-month virtual program that teaches participants how to develop, launch, and grow their companies.

Entrepreneurs selected for the Bootcamp may be invited to continue into the VBB Accelerator Program, where they can further refine their business and may become eligible to apply for investment opportunities of up to $100,000.

The training is conducted virtually by highly experienced professionals, making it accessible to participants across the world.
