Today, we're celebrating the importance of protecting nature - from pollinators and wildflowers to forests, wetlands, and the habitats that connect us all. Every action, no matter how small, can help create a healthier future for people and wildlife.

June is Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Awareness Month in Wisconsin, a campaign dedicated to protecting our rivers, lakes, and wetlands from ecologically destructive plants, animals, and pathogens. 💦

Golden Sands RC&D will be hosting Snapshot Day this year on the Mississippi River in Trempealeau. Come join us from 9-12:30 to learn more about aquatic invasive species and explore the nearby area after the event! 💦

May 15th is the day most graziers aim for, for the first day of the grazing season. This year we celebrated the grazing season kick-off by having a pasture walk out at Jenkins Livestock. Tristan and Grace shared with us their experience implementing their managed grazing plan and how they have prepared for their first year grazing cattle on these pastures. We enjoyed the beautiful weather, ate some yummy cookies and had some insightful conservations.

Franklin St Neighborhood Garden Tree Planting Success! 🌳

🍎🍏4 Apple Trees were planted at the neighborhood garden!🍏🍎

Thank you to the City of Stevens Point Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department for facilitating and Wisconsin Public Service for donating the funds for the planting! Golden Sands RC&D staff were also on hand to help.

We were at Central Waters Brewing Company for our FINAL TAP TALK of the season 🍻

We are welcoming the Clean Boats Clean Waters (CBCW) summer team!

Thank you to Erin McFarlane from UW-Extension Lakes and Chris Hamerla from Golden Sands RC&D for training our new CBCW staff!

The CBCW team helps at our local lakes - they perform boat and trailer checks, hand out informational brochures and educate boaters on how to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. If you see them out at the boat launches - say HI! 👋
