Here we go .... better late than never!!

In May, we were howling with pride for a pack of students who had truly gone above and beyond. Please join us in celebrating our Wolves of the Month, recognized specifically for their outstanding CREATIVITY! 🎨💡

Whether it was thinking outside the box to solve a tricky problem, bringing fresh ideas to the classroom, or sharing their unique artistic talents, these students remind us all how beautiful it is to see the world a little differently.

Thank you for bringing your imagination, passion, and unique spark to our school every single day. You made our pack stronger and a whole lot brighter this year! 🌟

Congratulations McDill on achieving another Green and Healthy Schools Wisconsin badge for our activities during April's "Earth Month"!

We recently received confirmation that we have been awarded the Energizers Badge for inspiring our school community to be energized about Earth Month, and our theme this year of Birds, in particular. Students participated in a variety of activities throughout the month including scavenger hunts, Earth-related artwork, and presentations by a local volunteer, as well as by the Raptor Education Group, Inc. (REGI) and Prairie Chicken Project organizations. Thank you to everyone who was involved! Here is a video showing highlights from all of the various activities that were done! We've now achieved three badges in the DNR and DPI's new badge program!

Student Council members work hard throughout the year to raise money through events like; trunk or treat, candy cane sales and school store. They then decide on how and where they want to spend it. Members chose to donate $500 along with community funds for a memorial bench, tree and plaque for our former ELL teacher who passed away last year and will be installed at McDill, $500 to the Salvation Army in our local community and $500 to Feeding America which is a national non profit and the money will go to eastern Wisconsin. Thank you to everyone who supported our efforts this year. We appreciate you all.

Hello McDill Families,

Recently, one of our McDill families experienced a devastating apartment fire. While we are incredibly grateful that everyone is safe, the family has unfortunately lost all of their belongings.

As a school, we want to help ease their burden and meet their most immediate needs. To ensure we provide the most effective support without overwhelming them, we are focusing our collection on gift cards and essential hygiene items.

If you are in a position to help, the family would greatly appreciate:

Gift Cards: Walmart (for food and household items), Goodwill (for clothing and household items), Kwik Trip (gas), or Visa (to assist with emergency housing/hotel costs).

Hygiene Items: Shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant (men’s and women’s), toothpaste, and laundry detergent.

If you have any further questions or correspondence, please reach out to school counselor Kristen Jensen ([email protected]) or school social worker Elizabeth Weatherwax ([email protected]).

Thank you for your compassion and kindness and for showing what it means to be part of the McDill community.

Items can be dropped off in the office. Thank you, kindly.

Let’s hear it for our incredible leaders! We are so proud to announce our newest "Wolves of the Month" for the trait of Courage. 🏆

Courage isn’t always about a grand gesture; it’s about showing up every single day, facing your challenges head-on, and pushing through even when things get tough. Whether it’s tackling a difficult math problem, standing up for a friend, or trying something new, these students have shown us what it means to be truly brave.

To our Wolves: Thank you for your grit, your resilience, and for being such a shining example to our entire school community. Keep howling loud and proud! 🐺✨

On Monday, 5th and 6th graders at McDill had a special visit from REGI educators and some of their amazing, feathered ambassadors! Students met a turkey vulture, a red-shouldered hawk, and a great horned owl as part of our school’s Earth Month activities.

This year for Earth Month, we are focusing on birds! Birds play an important role in keeping ecosystems healthy, making them a powerful way to understand how everything in our environment connects.

Other grade levels are getting involved, as well, with their own bird-themed activities. We’re excited to share more about all the learning happening at school at the end of the month.

Thanks so much!

Books from the Heart, a 28 year tradition, put a new book in the hands of students in grades K-2. Mrs. Crane, our reading specialist, helped organize and send out donated books to school district. Thank you for your hard work and commitment to bringing joy to our emerging readers.
