Jefferson County General Health District

Jefferson County General Health District Purpose is to help the individual/group achieve a more satisfying life and improve the functioning and quality of life for the residents of Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Health Department is here to provide services and programs in order to achieve the State purpose. Those services and programs will be based on a number of principles and assumptions including, but not limited to:

*The Department shall carry out programs mandated by the State Legislature and Ohio Department of Health.
*All citizens of the Jefferson County General Health Distri

ct should be free of any environmental conditions that lower the quality of life. To this end the Board shall adopt and enforce environmental rules and regulations.
*All citizens of the Jefferson County General Health District should be free of communicable diseases. To this end the Board shall create a public health nursing division.
*Citizens of the Jefferson County General Health District should not be barred from receiving medical and dental care due to race, creed, color or socioeconomic levels. To this end the Board may provide services if economically feasible. united states

Do you or someone you know have a child under the age of one, that is in need of a safe sleep environment?

Join us in partnership with OCPIM for a Pack-n-Play Palooza.

We will have safe sleep demonstrations.

Giveaways will include a pack-n-play, sleep sack, and pacifiers. Limited to the first 50 participants.

The Jefferson County General Health District (JCGHD) is giving away FREE bike helmets to help kids ride safely this summer! 🚲💨

As the school year wraps up and summer riding season begins, we’re promoting bike safety across the Ohio Valley. With 100+ helmets available, there should be plenty to go around — while supplies last! 🪖

We’ll also be hosting our Cycle the City ride just before the kids’ event, geared toward teens and adults who want to enjoy safe community rides through the city. 🚴‍♀️🚴

Bring the family, enjoy the market, ride safely, and pick up a free helmet!
