All gave some, some gave all. Today we pause and remember that this isn’t about having a three day weekend, it’s remembering those that have sacrificed for the freedoms we take for granted each day.

Sterlington Police Department
Click It or Ticket Campaign

The national “Click It or Ticket” campaign is currently underway and will continue through June 1st. The Sterlington Police Department reminds all motorists to buckle up properly every trip, every time. Parents and caregivers are also encouraged to ensure children are properly secured in the appropriate child safety seats.

With increased travel expected during the Memorial Day holiday weekend, seat belt use and proper child restraint use are especially important to help prevent serious injury and save lives.

The purpose of the increased enforcement is to encourage compliance with Louisiana’s seat belt and child restraint laws and to promote safe travel throughout the community.

In public service, we all have one goal, that goal is to provide the best service we can to our communities. With that being said, after a great conversation with Sheriff Bryan Linder of Franklin Parish, we decided to offer the same amenity he pushed out not too long ago.

Effective immediately, we are rolling out stickers for the back glass of your vehicle that give first responders that extra vital information that can change how we respond to emergencies/ interact on traffic stops.

You can come by our office Monday-Friday 7-3:30 and get with Sarah to get the appropriate sticker needed.

We are constantly evolving and implementing new and innovative ways to best serve our community. -Cobi Brown, Chief of Police
