We are saddened to hear about the loss of a brother firefighter. Dee Loggins you will be missed by so many. You have truly touched a lot of hearts in this community. Thank you for your service. We are praying for for the family of Dee Loggins and Bernice Fire Dept. We are here if yall need anything.

Due to ongoing fire weather conditions, a parish-wide burn ban will go into effect at 7:00 AM on 3/20/26.

Current conditions include critically dry fuels, low humidity, and gusty winds, all of which create an environment where fires can start easily and spread rapidly. These conditions are expected to persist, with hot and dry weather continuing and no meaningful rainfall in the immediate forecast.

Please see the details of the official burn ban order in the attached image for specific restrictions and allowed activities.
