Attention!! We are looking for local artists to create 2-dimensional works of art for our interpretive signs located here at North Sterling State Park. Artwork should consist of native plants, animals, Dark Skies, or the history of the area. We will award agreements to three separate artists, and their entries will be displayed within our interpretive kiosk, along with an artist statement. Artwork will be printed on outdoor signage material for durability at a scale of 42" x 48" (WxH), and therefore digital file entries are preferred. High resolution scans are also an option. Artists must be willing to allow Colorado Parks and Wildlife reprinting rights in case of damage. A modest stipend will be available to the selected artists.
Selections will be made based on alignment to the project elements listed above and their interpretive "fit" for the park.
Entry deadline is November 30, 2025. Best of Luck to all participants!!

Attention Hunters and Visitors: North Sterling State Park is closed to hunting till the first Tuesday after Labor Day. Meaning that hunting is not allowed on September 1st, which is the opening day for dove season. Hunting will be allowed on park starting Tuesday, September 2nd, which includes small game, waterfowl, and archery deer during their respective seasons. Only shotguns with birdshot or bows and arrows are permitted for hunting on the park.

Additionally, only the area from the south end of the Inlet bridge to the West Trailhead parking lot is huntable for the first portion of the hunting season (see map attached with red outline of hunting area). Areas north of the Inlet bridge become huntable starting November 1st, or when boating closes.
