Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad

The Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad provides volunteer Emergency Medical Services to the residents and visitors of Sterling, VA and the surrounding areas.

The Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad is located in the suburban community of Sterling, VA, about 25 miles northwest of Washington, DC. Sterling Rescue provides emergency medical services to the residents of the neighborhoods of Sterling Park, Great Falls Forest, Broad Run Farms, Countryside, Sugarland Run, Lowes Island, and Cascades. Sterling Rescue's service area is bounded by the Potomac River to

the north, Dulles Airport to the south, the Fairfax County line to the east, and Ashburn to the west. Overall, our response area covers about 25 square miles of eastern Loudoun County, Virginia, serving a population or approximately 100,000.

This week, SVRS, in collaboration with Loudoun County’s Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), Loudoun County Fire and Rescue (LCFR), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and other governmental and public safety agencies, supported the Town of Leesburg during full-scale active violence exercises held August 25 and 26. Did anyone else watch Emergency on TV back in the day? Our SVRS team was able to meet Randolph Mantooth, one of the stars of Emergency, at the 2019 EMS Symposium. We were saddened to hear of his passing. Emergency got a lot of kids interested in EMS, including many of our senior leaders!

Splash the Staff is back! 💦

Every summer our team competes to see who can collect the most donations for a local non-profit in our community.

This year we are raising money for Volunteer Rescue Squad! We chose this organization because they help community members right here in our backyard!

The more donations a staff member has the more likely it is, to see them splashed!

Last evening at Heritage High School, members of Sterling Rescue celebrated their graduation from classes from Firefighter I & II, Advanced EMT, and EMT. This represents 200-500+ hours to embark on their next chapter of bringing the citizens of Sterling the highest level of EMS and Rescue services. Congrats to Kirk (who was selected as the top student in his Advanced EMT class), Ashley-Advanced EMT, Michaela-Firefighter I & II, and Jenny-EMT! Thanks for all your hard work!!
