Did you know that if your library uses SLC’s shared system, you can borrow from 15 additional partner libraries on Libby? And now, borrowing from those libraries just got easier!

Partner libraries are now automatically linked to your home library card. When you search for an item, Libby automatically checks its availability across all libraries in the lending partnership. 🎉

UPDATE: The upgrade is complete and the system is back up as of 10:40a.m. Thanks again for your patience!

Heads up: Some library services will be temporarily unavailable while we complete scheduled upgrades and bug fixes to Polaris, our library system software, on Thursday, Aug. 13.

We expect the upgrade to be completed by 9 a.m., but downtime could last longer if any unexpected issues arise.

Everything should be up and running by the time most libraries open for the day. However, if you’re an early bird, you may not be able to access the catalog, read ebooks in Libby/OverDrive, or use Hoopla, Kanopy, Tutor.com, and some other databases until then.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We’ll update this post when the system is back up.

⏰📚 Attention, Library Science students!

The deadline to apply for the Suburban Library Cooperative internship is quickly approaching. Students currently enrolled in a master's degree program in Library Science at an accredited college or university are eligible to apply for this paid, part-time position.

The intern will rotate through several SLC member libraries in Macomb County over the course of the year, gaining hands-on experience providing library services to patrons in a variety of communities and library environments. The expected start date is early September.
