Bobby Harpole was born in Denton, Texas, who grew up in a military family living in 9 states as well as Germany. He was raised with christian values, and morals of hard work, honesty, discipline, and integrity. Those traits instilled early on ca
rried Bobby through his life and leadership positions during his law enforcement career. Harpole knew early on in life he had a love for law enforcement and protecting the public. He attended North Texas State, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Academy and the Law Enforcement Management Institute. Harpole retired as a Sergeant from DPS after serving 35 years with 23 of those years being in Erath County. Harpole is also a retired Captain of the Erath County Sheriff's Office after serving 12 years. With 47 years of Active Law Enforcement service, dedicated to the State of Texas, The President of the United States, Stephenville, and the citizens of Erath County, Bobby is still committed to Law Enforcement and Public Service, which is why he is running for Sheriff of Erath County. Bobby married Pamela (Collins) in 1966 and the couple have three boys Matt, Brian & Tyler. After transferring to Erath County in 1980, Bobby instantly loved the area, the people, the values, and knew this was home for he and his family. His wife Pam also, owned and operated Gala Affairs and Flowerland in Stephenville. Bobby wants to work to restore the pride, morale and integrity of the Sheriff Department. Bobby has been invested in this county since the moment he moved here volunteering in school and club activities during his children's school years, civic organizations and events, church, and the Masonic Lodge. In 2016, Bobby received the Golden Trowel Award from the Stephenville Masonic Lodge. The Golden Trowel Award citation accompanying the award stated, “Brother Harpole tirelessly supports Lodge activities including degree work and our annual fundraiser by arriving early to prepare the fryers and works throughout the day in whatever capacity is asked of him.” It continues, “He is always the first to lend a hand whenever there is a need, he exemplifies daily the principle Masonic tenets of brotherly love, relief and truth. Harpole believes in accountability, a hands on approach to leadership, training, and transfer of knowledge and skills to staff with an open door policy. Bobby's firm belief in truth, honesty, safety and morale combined with his years of active experience and willing to work mentality can provide beneficial leadership to the ECSO. The wide variety of his on the job experience alone prepares him for the role, but his integrity, leadership skills, passion, adaptability, compassion, troubleshooting and communication skills set him apart from other candidates. Bobby Harpole is a 37 year resident of Erath County, with 47 years of active law enforcement experience serving both county and state wide who is running for Erath County Sheriff. A Master Law Enforcement agent, Harpole served 35 with DPS, was a part of security at President George W. Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas, at Mt. Carmel during the Branch Davidian time, was a sergeant for a Civil Disturbance Management team and working in the command post after space shuttle Columbia came down in February, 2003. Bobby also has 12 years with ESCO among other forms of Law Enforcement Service and leadership roles. Harpole is dedicated to the safety, morale, and the high-standards Law Enforcement, and needs your support for his candidacy to improve all aspects of the Erath County Sheriff's Department to better serve the people of Erath County, reform the department and restore its integrity. Having served as a sergeant with DPS and later a Captain within the ESCO, Bobby possesses not only the integrity, leadership skills and knowledge for the job, but has the on the job hand-on experience that can help guide the staff, programs and budget of the ESCO.
