Today was a wonderful day celebrating Arbor Day with our incredible community here in Stephens City 🌳

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for the festivities. It was so special to see our community come together to celebrate nature, growth, and all that makes Stephens City such a wonderful place to call home.

A heartfelt thank you to Elvira Landscaping for generously planting the beautiful new trees and flowers throughout Newtown Commons at no cost to the Town. Your contribution helped make today extra special.

Thank you as well to the Town of Stephens City team, especially Mariah Smith, Mike Majher, and Richard with the maintenance department, for all the hard work you put into making our town such a vibrant and welcoming community. And a special thank you to Delegate Delores Riley Oates for coming out to support us today!

And a special shoutout to all who helped bring this event to life:

We’re getting close to our inaugural Newtown Earth Day Celebration, and it’s all coming together 🌿

Join us THIS Saturday, April 25th from 10am–3pm at Newtown Commons for a day centered around community, nature, and new beginnings.

The morning will kick off around 10:00am with a welcome and opening remarks from the Town, followed by a talk from Rick of the Newtown History Center, sharing a bit about the history of agriculture in our area. From there, we’ll gather for ceremonial tree plantings at the Commons.

We’ll be planting several trees that morning, including serviceberries and dogwoods, while some redbuds and crabapples may already be in place ahead of the event. A meaningful addition that will grow alongside the Commons for years to come 🌳

Around 11, live music by Shawn Hatfield and Friends will begin and carry us into the rest of the day.

Come celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day with us this Saturday at Newtown Commons. We can’t wait to see the community come together for the first of many Earth Day celebrations 🌎

We’ve been counting down the days… 💛

Our Opening Day is almost here, and we couldn’t be more excited to kick things off alongside the Town’s Arbor & Earth Day Celebration this Saturday, April 25 from 10am–3pm at Newtown Commons 🌳

It’s going to be a full day of everything we love about this community. A Flower & Garden Festival, sponsored by the Stephens City United Methodist Church , will bring all the spring inspiration with plants, garden goods, and more.

We’ll also be celebrating with a ceremonial tree planting featuring 6 redbuds, 4 crabapples, 3 serviceberries, and 5 dogwoods. (Redbuds and crabapples may be planted ahead of time, but the serviceberries and dogwoods will be planted during the event!)

Add in incredible local vendors, food trucks, live music, games, and that unmistakable small town energy… it’s the kind of day you don’t want to miss.

Come spend your Saturday with us wandering the market, soaking in the music, picking out something fresh, and celebrating the start of a new season together 🌿

Calling all local friends, groups, and businesses! 🎉

We’re getting ready for this year’s Newtown Heritage Festival Parade, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

This year’s festival is especially meaningful as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country, and we want the parade to reflect the people, organizations, and community that make this place so special.

If you’re interested in registering to participate in the parade on Saturday, May 23rd, we’d love to have you join the celebration. Whether you’re a local business, club, nonprofit, or just feeling festive, everyone is welcome.

📧 To sign up or get more details, please reach out to Mike Majher, Town Manager of Stephens City, at [email protected]

Let’s celebrate 250 years together! We can’t wait to see our community show up and show out 🇺🇸
