Graders were on Evans, Keysville, Yeary School, Stiller, Martin, Meramec Farms Hwy U side, Burley Ridge, Mine, Big Shoal, Czar Tower, Long Springs, Mound Ridge, Sanders roads.

We cut brush and brush hogged on Riverside, Bass, Lindberg and Church street.

Did pothole patching on Kline, Wesco, Delcore, Bales, Kline Cut Off, Lucky Clover, Golden Oaks, Swyers, Merry Hills, Robert Cemetery and Riverside.

It was breakdown week so the mechanic was busy!
He had to cut cable out of the side arm brush cutter and brush hog. The service truck broke down. It would not start had to replace the starter and ignition switch. Fixed an oil leak on one of the JD graders and adjusted the play in the moldboard. We had a group effort in replacing a section of the side arm cutter that holds the boom to tractor.

As we travel around we have been measuring the distance of each road and the type of surface it has. This will be beneficial when have to tackle the next big project or planning for future budget items.

Just now getting around to posting last week’s work.

We started the week off cleaning up after the storm Sunday night and Monday morning. We had trees and limbs down on multiple roads. A call came out Monday night of a tree across Lindberg road went out and opened the road back up.

Crews worked on fixing washouts on Camel Hump, Klein, Klein cutoff, Evans, Cedar Lane, Longsprings, Stiller, and Cedar Ford.

We worked on some of the ditches and culvers on Cedar Lane, Martin, Lindberg, and Bass, Birds Nest, and Cherry Valley.

The bridge on Thurman Lake road needed cleared off and they worked on the culvert and ditches before the resort.

We made it back and hauled off the brush pile from the tree that fell across Lindberg Monday night.

We had a hole open up on Feigenbaum road. They dug it down about 12 feet deep to rock and filled it back up with 2” base rock, then topped it with 1” base rock.

We clean out the box culvert on Meramec Farms.

Monday we spent the day checking roads, cleaning culvert pipes and box culverts after the storms. (Probably the same thing after tonight’s storms)

The crew removed a tree stump out of the box culvert on Little Shoal.

We fixed the approach on Westover bridge. Crews worked on filling in potholes on Eagle Hurst and Little Shoal. They spent some time patching asphalt potholes on Cherryville Road.

They cleared brush off of LongSprings and removed a low leaning tree on Eagle Hurst. Cleaned off the road edges and ditch area of brush to allow better drainage on Eagle Hurst.

Cleaned off the gravel that has been pushed off along the road by the low water slab on Eagle Hurst and opened the pipe up to get the water off the bridge.

We started spreading our CART funded rock on Valleyside, Meramec Farms, Fire Tower, Mound Ridge. Three trucks hauled around 1000 ton of rock so far.

They also hauled a few loads of rock to South Roanoak and Sig Bass.

They marked a culvert pipe to be replaced on Idlewild.

Mechanic swapped out a transmission line on the foreman’s truck. The JD backhoe had a power steering line that needed replaced also.

After the high winds over the weekend, we ran our roads on Monday and removed several trees and limbs off the roads. Some of the roads were Riverside, Pitts, Wesco, and Thurman Lake, and we cleaned out tree debris from bridges on Cook Station, Wesco, and Pitts.

We hauled shot rock to fix a washout on NewHome and reinforced the creek bank by pulling up the fill that slid back into the creek and added more shot rock.

Had a report of a tree down on Bales but was pulled off the road by the time we got there. We appreciate whoever opened a lane on the road.

As we said in previous posts, we temporarily fixed the Arlie Barr slab by putting a culvert in its place and added shot rock and 2 inch minus to make it passable. Also replaced a culvert pipe at the bottom of the hill that has been packed full of gravel for many years. We opened several other culvert pipes while we were there. We hauled some rock in to fix the side of the road where it washed out going down the hill.

Wednesday we had all the graders operating the rest of the week on Mound Ridge, Bales, North Klein, North Cedar Ford, Meremac Farms, and Seven Cedars. We also hauled several loads of rock to Cherry Valley Road.

As said in previous posts we hauled shot rock the fill in the upper side of the Butts bridge new apron. Hauled shot rock in to raise the road up and topped it with 2 inch minus rock to be able to drive up onto the bridge.

All week we had someone opening up culvert pipes by hand and filling in potholes.

To finish out the week on Sunday afternoon we had a report of a tree down on Westover Road. The truck said 96 degrees but it felt like 120.
