Utility work is being done on the Northern section of Shady lane today and tomorrow 6/10-6/11. There will be a partial road blockage until the work is complete. The road will remain open. Please use caution as you navigate through the area.

The Spring Street bridge, which connects Dairy Isle to Church Street near Hoppe Springs Park is currently closed. This includes both vehicle traffic as well as foot traffic. Please stay off of the bridge at this time. More information will be provided when it is available.  Thank you.

Power has been restored. Thank you to our utility crew for taking care of another unexpected outage!

City utility crews are aware of the power outage in the Keysville area. Please use caution if you are driving where they may be working. This post will be updated when additional information is provided. Thank you.

Today, May 15, 2026, is Peace Officer Memorial Day, a day set aside yearly to remember those officers who have given their lives in the line of duty across our great nation. And this has been Police Week, in which we honor the sacrifices of law-enforcement officers, their families, and those that support them as they give tirelessly to protect our communities.

On behalf of Mayor Dereneaux, the City Council, and all employees of the City of Steelville we would like to give a heartfelt thanks to our city police, sheriff’s department, highway patrol, and all those law-enforcement agencies who protect us day and a day out. Thank you all so very much and may God bless you and protect you!
