The Steamboat Springs School District Board of Education will hold a business meeting on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 4:30 pm at Steamboat Springs Middle School, 39610 Amethyst Dr. Reports and Communications will include SSSD Celebrations, a Strategic Communications Update, a SSSD 25-26 End of Year District Data Snapshot Report, a Staff Negotiations Update, the FY27 Budget Public Hearing, and a report on Initiative 195. The meeting will be held in person and will also be livestreamed on the District website. If you would like to participate in public comment, you will need to attend the meeting in person and sign up to speak.

🎵"School's out for the SUMMER!" 🎸

Today was the last day for students in the Steamboat Springs School District! What better way to wrap up a great year and kick off the summer than with some friendly competition between classmates? At Steamboat Springs Middle School, 6th graders participated in tug-of-war and various relay races to compete against classmates and to celebrate another great year.

Students in Steamboat Springs High School’s Backpacking Outdoor Leadership class recently completed their final trip of the year in Big Dominguez Canyon near Grand Junction.

Throughout the course, students learned how to safely travel and camp in the backcountry while following Leave No Trace principles, building leadership skills, and practicing wilderness first aid. Students also had the opportunity to earn a 16-hour Wilderness First Aid certification.

What an incredible way for students to build confidence, leadership, and outdoor skills through real-world experiences in Colorado’s outdoors!

Los estudiantes de la clase de Liderazgo de Mochilero al Aire Libre de Steamboat Springs High School recientemente completaron su viaje final del año en Big Dominguez Canyon, cerca de Grand Junction.

Students in Steamboat Springs High School’s Health Science and Backpacking Outdoor Leadership classes recently had the opportunity to learn from emergency medical professionals during a helicopter demonstration from Classic Air Medical.

Flight nurses and flight medics spoke with students about wilderness rescue, emergency response, and careers in emergency medicine and patient transport. The experience connected directly to students’ wilderness first aid training and provided a unique look into real-world emergency medical operations.

Thank you to SSHS teacher Hannah Baker, Classic Air Medical, and all of the community professionals who helped make this hands-on learning opportunity possible for students!

Los estudiantes de las clases de Ciencias de la Salud y Liderazgo de Mochilero al Aire Libre de Steamboat Springs High School recientemente tuvieron la oportunidad de aprender de profesionales médicos de emergencia durante una demostración de helicóptero presentada por Classic Air Medical.

Paramédicos y enfermeros de vuelo hablaron con los estudiantes sobre rescates en áreas silvestres, respuesta a emergencias y carreras en medicina de emergencia y transporte de pacientes. Students at Soda Creek Elementary had the opportunity to explore future career paths during a Career Day held for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders on May 1!

Before the event, students completed surveys about careers they were most interested in learning about. Community members then volunteered their time to share insights about their professions and answer student questions.

Students learned about careers in veterinary medicine, marketing, engineering, art, ecosystem science, social media, law enforcement, athletics, carpentry, and business ownership.

A special shoutout to school counselors Allison Feyen and Natalie Fisher for organizing this meaningful opportunity for students to connect classroom learning to future careers. 👏

Thank you as well to the many local professionals who volunteered their time to help inspire the next generation!

¡Los estudiantes de Soda Creek Elementary tuvieron la oportunidad de explorar futuras carreras durante un Día de Carreras para estudiantes de 3.º, 4.º y 5.º grado el pasado 1 de mayo!
