Routt County Communications and the Colorado Department of Wildlife are aware of a Coyote with Mange that has been spotted in the downtown Steamboat Springs area. Please refrain from calling dispatch unless the animal is acting aggressively. Thank you, and Happy Holidays!

If you live in the area, please help us keep an eye out for this cutie! His name is Finn. He was spooked when he was out for his walk yesterday. His leash broke and he ran off. He is wearing an orange vest and has a microchip. He has been seen running on CR 62.

He is afraid of men and is really scared at the moment so he keeps running away when people see him.

Fireworks that leave the ground, explode or fragment, and similar more powerful fireworks are illegal in Colorado. Yes that means Steamboat Springs too! Illegal fireworks include but are not limited to bottle rockets, cherry bombs, firecrackers, rockets and shells, roman candles, mortars, missile boxes, and M-100 or M-80 devices.
