Doris's Place - Family Building Blocks Made possible by the Oregon Community Foundation – Doris J. Wipper Fund Trustees, including the late Ted Freres.

Established in 2010, Doris's Place is the Santiam Canyon home of Family Building Blocks, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and Relief Nursery committed to "Keeping Children Safe and Families Together." We partner with families who are facing overwhelming life circumstances while raising children prenatal through five years through our free and voluntary prevention services. Major supporters of Fam

ily Building Blocks in the Santiam Canyon, they helped bring our critical prevention programs to families living in the rural towns of Aumsville, Detroit Lake, Gates, Idhana, Lyons, Mehama, Mill City, Sublimity, and Stayton. The late Doris Wipper was a beloved member of the Freres family who own Freres Lumber Co. in addition to being corporate sponsors of Doris’s Place and supporting Family Building Blocks’ programing annually. Doris served as the chief financial officer for Freres Lumber Co. for many years and established a fund to provide opportunities for future generations.

Calling prenatal & parents with newborn babies! We have a parenting group beginning in May and we want you to join us! Santiam Hospital's Allison Gladney, lactation consultant/birthing coach and Family Building Blocks Melodie Weeks, Parent educator, are teaming up to present this fun and supportive learning group. Come meet other parents, enjoy free dinner, explore prenatal/newborn parenting information in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Hope to meet you soon!

Dropping Thank You treats at our local Les Schwab Tire Centers for partnering with Family Building Blocks for the 17th Annual Diaper Drive! We are just over halfway through the drive - swing by your local Les Schwab to drop diapers and help us reach our goal of collecting 100,000 Diapers!
