The purpose behind this page is to bring public awareness to the citizens of Staunton of the duties and responsibilities of the Staunton Sheriff's Office. It is also intended to keep the public informed of court closures as well as provide information regarding public safety and security. In an effort to better communicate with the citizens of Staunton, we welcome any comments or feedback you may have. The Sheriff for the City of Staunton is Matthew H. Robertson. The Staunton Sheriff's Office has 8 staff members that consists of the following. Chief Deputy, 5 full-time Deputies, 1 part-time deputy and an Administrative assistant/Deputy. These Deputies serve in two divisions. The Court Security Division ensures the safety of the courts by protecting Judges and keeping order in the Courts. These Courts include, Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relation Court. The Civil Division serves civil process throughout the City and is responsible for executing Writs of Possession, Evictions and Levies. They are also responsible for the transportation of prisoners to and from court as well as extraditions from other states.
