🇺🇸 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲 | 𝟐𝟓 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐖𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫

Twenty-five years ago, September 11, 2001 forever changed our nation.

Today, the Statesville Police Department remembers the nearly 3,000 lives lost, including 72 law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to the attacks.

We honor their courage and sacrifice. We remember the families whose lives were forever changed. And we reflect on the extraordinary bravery, compassion, and unity shown by people across our nation in the days that followed.

A quarter century has passed, but our promise remains the same. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🚔 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫

You do not have to be a Certified Police Officer to begin your career with the Statesville Police Department.

As a Full-Time Police Officer Recruit, qualified candidates earn $22.89 per hour while completing Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET). After successfully completing BLET and meeting all requirements, recruits are promoted to sworn police officers with a starting shift salary of $26.50 per hour.

From there, SPD offers continued professional development, opportunities for specialized assignments, and a career dedicated to serving the Statesville community.

🚧 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐤

Roofing work has begun on the Statesville Police Department expansion. Installation of the ice and water shield on the mansard roofs is complete, and work on the flat roof is scheduled to begin next week. The building is expected to be dried in within approximately two weeks, allowing crews to begin installing drywall and working toward interior finishes.

Exterior work will continue with the installation of brick, split-face block, exterior finishes and window systems. Sewer and storm drain installation also remains underway. The Police Department expansion is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2027.

The parking garage is currently expected to be completed in mid-to-late November. Elevator work continues to affect the completion schedule.
