Meeting the needs of EVERY child is to us!

Making sure ALL of them are reading on grade level.
Making sure ALL of them are growing academically.
Making sure ALL of them feel safe, supported, and valued.
Making sure ALL of them have access to opportunities.
And when one of them struggles, WE RESPOND.

Because cannot simply mean that we are together. It has to mean that EVERY child gets what they need to succeed.

At LCES, that is the work.
EVERY child. EVERY day. NO exceptions.

THIS is to us.

Langston Chapel Elementary and Langston Chapel Middle School are not only connected physically. We are connected by heart. We share students. We share families. We share a community. And we also share in celebrating one another!

Today, the LCES Admin Team took the short journey next door to surprise Principal Cordy and wish him a ROARing Happy Birthday!

Because being good neighbors means showing up for each other, and at Langston Chapel, that’s exactly what we do. Happy Birthday, Principal Cordy! We hope your day was a great one!

We’re not sure who gets more excited when one of our students earns a ROAR Ticket…the student OR the teacher!

There’s just something special about catching a student DOING RIGHT and making sure they know we noticed!

Great job, Gianna! Keep making those ROARing choices! We see you. We celebrate you. And we are PROUD of you!

We pride ourselves on a lot at LCES. But one thing we do EXTREMELY well is recognize our staff members who go above and beyond! Today, we ended our day by celebrating one of our teachers, Erica Beegle, with the ROARing Lion Award!

Ms. Beegle has been incredible this year! She has provided support throughout our school, stepped in wherever she has been needed, filled voids, supported students and staff, and helped keep LCES moving forward. THAT is what going above and beyond looks like!

Congratulations, Ms. Beegle! We see you. We appreciate you. And today, we CELEBRATE YOU!

We had the great privilege of welcoming Alyson Sexton, Literacy Coach at Mattie Lively Elementary School, to LCES today!

Alyson spent the day shadowing our dynamic Literacy Coach, Chris Clark, observing his work and seeing firsthand the literacy practices and systems he has helped put in place at LCES.

We are extremely proud of the work Chris is doing and even more proud when that work becomes a resource for others beyond the walls of LCES. Thank you, Alyson, for spending the day with us. We were glad to have you!

WHEN PEOPLE INVEST IN OUR CHILDREN, WE SAY THANK YOU!

Today, we had the opportunity to recognize Todd Padgett Housing Center Inc. for its continued generosity and support of LCES.

Each year, Mr. Padgett sponsors our Pre-K Breakfast Buddies, helping us welcome our youngest Lions and their families to LCES. His support is not a one-time gesture. It is something he continues to do for students, and our families. We are grateful!

A SPECIAL VISIT AND A GREAT DAY AT LCES! One of the highlights of today was having our Superintendent, Dr. Torian White, visit LCES and spend time with our entire staff.

Dr. White encouraged our team to keep moving forward and reminded us that the great work happening at LCES is making a real difference in the lives of children. We appreciated him taking the time to recognize and encourage our staff.

And we even got a surprise! Dr. White joined our staff for a celebratory dance, and we discovered that our Superintendent has a few moves we didn’t know about! Thank you, Dr. White, for visiting, encouraging our staff, and believing in the work happening at LCES!

We took full advantage of today’s Inservice Day! Our teachers spent the day learning, collaborating, and sharpening their practice during CONFUSION TO CLARITY, a math professional learning experience led by Dr. Antre’ Drummer of First District RESA.

The session was engaging, practical, and productive, adding even more effective instructional strategies to our teachers’ toolboxes and giving them ideas they can take directly back into their classrooms.

At LCES, professional learning is about more than checking a box. When our teachers grow, our students benefit. Thank you, Dr. Drummer, for investing in our teachers and helping us continue moving from CONFUSION TO CLARITY!

The Gentlemen of LCES were caught “LION AROUND!” Before our newest lion rug heads out to our young Lions as part of a special incentive contest for our lower grades, the gentlemen of LCES decided they needed to test it out first.

So, naturally, it became a competition—the LCES “Lion Around” Challenge! The challenge was simple: Who could come up with the most creative way to “lion around”?

And our gentlemen did NOT disappoint! From reading and relaxing to working on the computer and just plain acting up, they gave it their best shot. But there could only be ONE champion…

Congratulations to Officer McBride for taking the top prize! His creativity, school spirit, and willingness to fully commit earned him the title of LCES “Lion Around” Champion! A little fun. A lot of school spirit. And absolutely NO SHAME!

ONE SCHOOL. ONE TEAM. A ROARING GOOD TIME!
