Big news for our music department!
A huge congratulations Ms. Canty-White, our amazing music teacher, who was recently awarded a generous grant from the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro!
Here is what she shared about this wonderful gift:

"I would like to thank Kiwanis of Statesboro for their generous gift to the music program at MCES. This allows us to purchase more instruments, classroom resources, and support our chorus program."

A big thank you to all the wonderful grandparents who joined us for our Pre-K and Kindergarten Grandparents' Breakfast this morning!

Big congratulations to our August Students of the Month!

These outstanding students were recognized for consistently showing respect to their peers, teachers, and school community throughout the entire month. To celebrate their positive leadership and dedication, each recipient was presented with an official certificate of achievement and a special Student of the Month bracelet.

Big news for our student scholars!

We are so proud to announce our i-Ready Benchmark Top Scorers for each grade level! These hard-working students achieved the highest scores on our recent i-Ready Reading and Math benchmark assessment, which students take three times a year to track their learning growth and academic progress.

To celebrate their high achievement, each top scorer was awarded a certificate of achievement and a custom token to choose a brand-new book from our book vending machine!

What a way to celebrate! Our very first PBIS reward was an absolute blast with our Mustangs Move-It Dance Party!

Our incredible students brought the energy to the dance floor, enjoyed delicious popcorn, and refreshed with a fun water flavor bar.

We are so proud of our Mustangs for showing positive behavior, working hard, and setting a great example every day. Seeing their big smiles and happy dance moves made all their effort worth celebrating!

Are you passionate about our school's success? We are looking for energetic parents and local community business members to join our School Council for the upcoming school year.

Why Join?

Make an Impact: Advise on key school decisions, strategic goals, and learning initiatives.

Bridge the Community: Help connect local businesses and resources directly with our students.

Be a Voice: Represent the diverse perspectives of our parent body and local neighborhood.

How It Works: The council meets four times a year to collaborate with school leadership. No prior experience is needed—just a desire to support our students and staff! You can self-nominate or nominate a fellow parent or a local business partner who would be a great fit. You do not need a current student in our building to help support our school.

What an incredible way to wrap up August at Mill Creek Elementary!
We had the honor of welcoming our new superintendent, Dr. White, who shared his inspiring One Bulloch vision for our schools and community.

To top off the week, our Friday morning was packed with school spirit! The Statesboro High School football players, cheerleaders, and band members lined the drop-off line to give our Mustangs the ultimate morning greeting. The energy, high-fives, and music brought so many smiles to our students' faces as they walked through the doors!
Thank you to Dr. White and the amazing SHS students for making our Friday so special. We are proud to be part of !
