On Saturday at 11am, the street that runs alongside what was once a cemetery (now a strip mall) will be co-named "Benjamin Prine Way." Benjamin was a Veteran of the 1812 war, he lived to over 100.
This is the first time in NYC history that a street will be co-named for a formerly enslaved person from NYC. Please join us for this celebration!

Let’s get rid of these pests across S. I.

Join NYC H2O, the Riverside Park Conservancy, and my office to build spotted lanternfly traps at Riverside Park South @ Pier I (W 70th St)!

About this event: Spotted lanternflies first showed up as an invasive species in the Northeast in 2014. They are pests to fruits and trees feeding on 70 plant species. Since 2020 the flies have been recorded in New York. Lanternflies and lanternfly instars are now everywhere in NY State. With no known native predators it is crucial to stop the read before the species potentially decimates North American crops and native tree populations.

The building session will run from 1:00PM - 3:00PM at Pier I (at W 70th St) at Riverside Park South. Materials, tools and instruction will be provided on site.
