Tahoe environmental rules could get simpler with an overhauled code of ordinances. The public review draft of the cleaner, tighter rule book will be examined at a public hearing this month in Kings Beach, CA. The new version is more than a pound lighter than the current code.
A more understandable, user-friendly code can make projects from home improvements to commercial centers easier to permit and that means more environmental improvements and upgrades to Lake Tahoe's older development.

Only procedural and minor substantive changes are proposed for adoption during the first phase of the Code Update. Major substantive changes are proposed to be considered in Phase 2.
