I was honored to participate in the Centre County 25th Anniversary Commemoration of September 11th this morning at Memorial Park. Public officials, first responders, faith leaders, and community members gathered for a moving tribute to a Centre County native, Lieutenant Jonas Panik, who perished 25 years ago today. May his memory forever be a blessing.

The PA House made history by holding a ceremonial session in Congress Hall in Philadelphia this week! I’m grateful to have the opportunity to take part in this celebration of America’s 250th birthday and the state House’s central role in our nation’s founding. 🔔🇺🇸

Yesterday, I was amazed at the strength and courage of my Penn State student intern, Amber Starr, as she spoke on her experiences with sexual harassment and violence in the workplace.

Amber wrote a piece of legislation I plan to introduce, updating the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act to require companies to investigate claims of workplace discrimination. It’s time that individuals who take part in this type of misconduct are held responsible, and I applaud Amber for bringing her proposal to the table.
