Thanks to a $350 grant from the State College Bird Club and the hard work of 15 volunteers from the club, Pennsylvania Native Plant Society, Pennsylvania Master Naturalists, and our community, we’ve taken steps toward improving the area around the existing bird feeder station along the Spring Creek Education Building.

We are grateful to our wonderful volunteers, community collaborators, and grant supporters for helping make this project possible. A special thank you to Kristy Gallo and Danielle Lanagan for their leadership and guidance!

NEW to Millbrook Marsh: a four-bin compost system made possible through an Eagle Scout Project led by Carmen Defelice.

Carmen's experience during Pollinator Garden Work and Learn sessions inspired her to choose, create and build this project. The new, sturdy, four-bin system (built on the site of our original three-bin system constructed by Taylor Gonet as part of her Gold Scout Award project) will help us continue supporting the thriving demonstration gardens at Millbrook Marsh.

A big thank you to Carmen, her family, her mentor Aaron Teel, and the members of Troup 32 for choosing Millbrook Marsh as the beneficiary for this project. We are so thankful for their time, hard work, and commitment to conservation and creating healthy spaces for our native plants and pollinators.

A huge thank you to the incredible volunteers from the Pennsylvania School for Excellence in the Ag Sciences who joined ClearWater Conservancy for two volunteer days this summer to help with stream buffer maintenance and tend to the newly planted trees in the marsh!

The hard work of these rising high school seniors supports healthier wetlands and improved wildlife habitat for years to come.

We're grateful for the students' enthusiasm, hard work, and commitment to making a lasting environmental impact through stewardship in our community. Thank you for strengthening our stream buffer and marsh ecosystem, one branch at a time!

Our Little Free Library at Millbrook Marsh has a fresh new look!
A huge thank you to Doing Good With Wood for generously renovating our Little Library. After years of use, it was definitely ready for some care - and their volunteers did a wonderful job bringing it back to life.

They matched the style of the Spring Creek Education Building, used the same stain, and even added a transparent roof that lets in more natural light and makes it easier to browse books. It’s a beautiful example of craftsmanship and community care.
Doing Good With Wood, founded by Kyle Peck and John Seymour, brings people together through woodworking, mentorship, and service. We’re so grateful they chose to share their skills with the Marsh.

We also want to thank the Rotary Clubs of State College for helping make this partnership possible and for their continued support.
Come check out the refreshed Little Free Library next time you’re at Millbrook Marsh!
