The Ferguson Township Police Department consists of 22 sworn, full time staff, 1 part time Ordinance Enforcement Officer and 2 Administrative Assistants. Sworn staff consists of the Chief, 4 Sergeants, 2 Corporals, 11 Patrol Officers, and 4 Detectives. The Police Department responds to all 9-1-1 emergency calls as well a

s non-emergency police calls, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. More than 4,800 calls for service were answered in 2018. For information on how to file a police report, review crime statistics, complete a business information card or request a crime prevention program, please visit our department website. FTPD is a fully-accredited police department, and has been since May 24, 2017, through the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Program of the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association. This rigorous accreditation process requires law enforcement agencies to adhere to near 440 standards, codes and state-of-the-art practices. On August 4, 2020, the FTPD proudly received their certificate of re-accreditation for a term of three-years. Ferguson Township is proud to congratulate Police Officer Annie Lucas on successfully graduating from Centre County's 29th Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training class.

The 40-hour, comprehensive training program prepares law enforcement to better respond to individuals living with mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and co-occurring disorders, covering de-escalation techniques, su***de intervention, and trauma-informed response.

Officer Lucas was among 17 graduates in this year's class, bringing Centre County's total to 543 trained emergency first responders in crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation.

Congratulations to all the Special Olympics athletes who competed this past weekend! Sergeant Hendrick had the honor of participating in the opening ceremonies on Thursday, June 4th, as well as handing out awards to athletes throughout the Summer Games.

The Ferguson Township Police Department greatly appreciates our strong relationship with the Special Olympics and is proud to be a part of such an incredible event.

On Thursday, May 21, 2026, Ferguson Township Police Officers joined law enforcement from across the Commonwealth to continue their longstanding partnership with the Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) Torch Run. Together, they completed the final torch run leg of the journey that began in Pittsburgh on May 19th.

The journey isn't over yet....on June 4th, officers will proudly run the Flame of Hope into the opening ceremonies at Medlar Field to officially kick off the Summer Games. The community is invited to attend and cheer on these talented athletes!

With warmer weather arriving, our region has seen an increase in aggressive driving and speeding.

On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, Ferguson Township Police and Patton Township Police partnered for an enforcement detail as part of the Centre County Traffic Safety Grant. Law enforcement agencies throughout the Centre Region will continue conducting targeted traffic enforcement efforts to help keep our roads safe and reduce aggressive driving.

The Ferguson Township Police Department continued its partnership with Special Olympics by participating in the Wilds Region Bowling Tournament on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Officers assisted with the ceremonial lighting of the torch and presented awards to the incredible athletes at the conclusion of the event. Another great job to all who competed! 🎳🏅
