Formed on November 22, 1875, from parts of Benner and Harris Townships in Centre County, Pennsylvania, College Township is a Pennsylvania Township of the Second Class under the Home Rule Charter and Optional Plans Law (53 Pa. Originally governed by a Board of Supervisors, in 1976, voters deemed it most efficient to change to a Council-Manager form of government that would allow the separation of legislative and administrative responsibilities.

PUBLIC NOTICE
HYDRANT FLUSHING

The College Township Water Authority will begin flushing hydrants on Monday, June 15, 2026 and continue for approximately four weeks. Hydrant flushing will occur during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Please note some areas of the system will experience low pressure and cloudy water during the flushing operations. For any questions or concerns, please call the College Township Water Authority at (814) 231-3021.

College Township is seeking an Engineering Technician to support critical infrastructure and development initiatives that directly impact the quality of life in our community. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys a blend of fieldwork, technical analysis, and collaboration.

What You’ll Do:
- Support engineering and capital improvement projects from concept through completion.
- Conduct inspections, site visits, and data collection for public works and development projects.
- Assist with plan review, permitting, and compliance with Township standards.
- Prepare drawings, maps, and technical reports using GIS, CAD, and related tools.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and internal departments to ensure project success

What We’re Looking For:
- Associate’s or bachelor's degree in engineering technology, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with CAD, GIS, and technical documentation preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to perform fieldwork.

The Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority will be holding a FREE Tire Collection Event for Centre County residents!

🗓 Saturday, September 12
⏰ 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Before registering, please review the following important information:

✅ Accepted Tires:
• Car and light truck tires
• Motorcycle tires
• ATV tires
• Bike tires
• Tires must be 43 inches or smaller in diameter

🚫 NOT Accepted:
• Shredded tires
• Tires filled with mud or debris
• Commercial or municipal loads

📌 Additional Details:
• Limit of 12 tires per appointment
• Registration is required and registration opens June 1

Traffic Advisory:
Temporary traffic stoppages on the PSU campus will occur Thursday evening, 6/4/26 at the intersections of Porter Rd. and Curtain Rd. and University Dr. and Curtain Rd. from appx 5:30pm-8pm for the torch run & Olympian delegations arrival. Medlar Field will be hosting the opening ceremonies. Expect high pedestrian traffic in these areas and temporary delays in travel.

Starting June 1, Pike Street in Lemont will be undergoing construction through October 2026 due to a PennDOT project. The College Connector (CC) Route will not be servicing its typical stops in Lemont during this time.

Lemont Riders are advised to use CATAGO! to connect to the broader CATA transit network from Medlar Field, Nittany Mall, Walmart (Benner Pike), or Hills Plaza.
