Thank you for writing this Chrissy Allen Thompson - City Clerk of Starke. I’m extremely proud of all our men and women who do an excellent job day in and day out keeping our City running. The amount of work they do every day, many take for granted. When you turn on a light switch and your lights come on, turn the faucet and water flows or flush the toilet, when the garbage disappears from the street etc. our employees are working in the background to ensure those things happen.
While I get it’s easy to come to social media using an anonymous name and complain about an issue, it’s just as easy to call, email us, or come to City Hall. We’ll do everything we can to fix any issue there may be at any given time, no matter who informs us. Sometimes a repair or request cannot be immediately completed, however, we diligently work to ensure the task is completed. If you have any issues, concerns, or questions I encourage you to email me directly at [email protected]
Whether you’re a City employee, or someone who cares about Starke, thank you for doing what you do to make Starke a great place to call home.
Our City of Starke employees are working hard every single day to serve this community. We may not have the largest staff, but we have a dedicated team that shows up every day and gives their best. We are a small but mighty city, and I couldn't be more proud of the people who work so hard behind the scenes.
Like many communities, we are balancing the needs of aging infrastructure while continuing to improve and invest in new infrastructure. There is always more to do, and we are addressing projects as quickly and responsibly as our staffing and resources allow.
Please remember that our employees live here too. They raise their families here, shop here, volunteer here, and care deeply about our community. They want the very best for the City of Starke just as much as you do.
If you see something that needs attention, please let us know in a respectful and constructive way. Better yet, if you're able to lend a hand, we encourage you to do so. If you see litter, pick it up. If you notice something that needs attention, report it. If you want to volunteer or help improve our community, we welcome your involvement.
Negativity and criticism on social media don't solve problems. Communities grow stronger when neighbors work together, encourage one another, and focus on solutions instead of complaints.
Let's continue building a city we are all proud to call home. Together, with kindness, patience, and community spirit, we can accomplish so much more.
Thank you to our City of Starke employees and to every citizen who chooses to make a positive difference every day. Together, we are stronger.
