Bradford County Public Library

Bradford County Public Library Bradford County Public Library is dedicated to enhancing lives. The Library is not simply about books!

The Bradford County Public Library opened its doors at this location as recently as October 26, 2007. The previous building located on Jackson Street measured approximately 4000 square feet, now roughly the size of our Children's Department. We put together frequent educational and social events for each age-group, and make available to the general public 28 internet-ready computers, free wireless

, and study rooms. There is an on-site computer lab frequented by students of nearby Santa Fe College, most often utilized by the Library for Public Computer Training.

Northeast Florida Library Information Network, also known as Neflin, received a grant to purchase additional content for our Libby App users to enjoy.

There is an online survey that will take about a minute to fill out. Your answers will help decision makers build content that you'll love.

I'll place a photo in comments, to help you identify the link to the survey.

You can now preserve your home movies on a USB Flash Drive!

*** The provided flash drive will hold 64 GB, which is a lot of hours of film. The $10 fee is per flash drive, not per video tape or per session. Cash only (tens, fives, or ones ~ the makerspace does not supply change). ***

To make an appointment, contact Kathy at the library. Voice mail is (904) 368-3921.

September's calendar is here!

Melanie's Reading to the Shelter Pet's program has been canceled. Anyone who was hoping to come to the library to meet the dogs and cats who need a home, please visit the local shelter. Your fur baby could be waiting for you.

The Homeschool Program with Kathy & Amy returns on September 9. We have a special guest teaching us about Outdoor Survival . We have 35 children signed up to receive the take home kits so far, which leaves just 5 more kits available.

Story Time with Melanie returns on September 15 with a fun Welcome Back Program. Beginning this month, Melanie has scheduled several after school activities for different ages.

Volt meets with Amy to discuss upcoming holiday activities and elect new officers. If you know a teen who would like to earn volunteer hours, please see Amy in the teen department.

The time is changing for the Chess Meetup. It's now at 4 PM instead of after hours.

You'll see the Bradford Creative Studio listed. When you walk passed the two glass-walled study rooms, you'll see a brown door by a display case. Behind that brown door is a room filled with STEAM and crafting activities. And there's more coming! In case you missed the post, we were awarded a $15k grant from Clay Electric's Operation Round Up for new equipment. Seriously, this is no ordinary makerspace. See Kathy for details.

Also, there is a Friends of the Library Community Rummage Sale on September 26. Anyone in the community can come sell things they no longer need. Space rental fees paid to Friends of the Bradford County Public Library benefit the library. Money made from the sales is yours to keep. Shoppers will find lots of treasures and bargains.

If you go to our Bradford County Public Library page & click "more", it should give you the option to see more upcoming events. It's a good idea to check this list weekly for updates.

We have spent our lives listening to her songs, watching her perform on screen, and enjoying her sense of humor. The news today hit us hard.

In addition to her passion for entertaining, Dolly was an amazing advocate for early literacy.

The best way that we, as a library, can honor Dolly is to keep making sure that children, regardless of the circumstances, have access to books.

Support libraries everywhere.

The child who you see sitting in the library just may grow up to be an adult who teaches, saves lives, builds bridges, or discovers how to solve problems that previous generations could not.
