BOARD OF EDUCATION SPECIAL MEETING CONCERNING TRACK FACILITIES: At last night's special meeting of the board, the board voted unanimously to direct the superintendent to solicit bids for the addition of a 3 lane straightaway, 1 additional long jump pit, and the expansion of the existing concrete pad and an additional track surface coating on the elementary playground to accommodate high jump practice. All expansions/improvements will involve the area west of the school inside the existing chain link fence. The design as discussed last night integrates into the elementary play area and takes into account safety and the need for the elementary to have a sufficient play area. The board will have further discussion and possible approval of this expansion at their regular meeting on Monday, September 14th.

TONIGHT'S SPECIAL BOARD MEETING: The rationale for tonight's meeting is to discuss possible options to improve our track and field practice facilities so that the board of education can direct the superintendent to receive the bids on those additions that they may consider. The board will not be approving additional facilities at tonight's meeting. There will be discussion on this very item at the regular meeting on Monday, September 14th at 7pm in the library. Interested parties are encouraged to call the main office for more information in the meantime. In addition I'd like to offer an apology for any potential conflicts with tonight's VB and FB games, that tonight's special meeting has caused. It was a mistake. Good Luck to our teams tonight!

SEPTEMBER STUDENT SURVEY: In the month of September will be surveying our students about their willingness/ability to connect and communicate with a staff member if they ever feel they need to. This would be a great opportunity for parents and students to talk about those times when this would be appropriate. If for any reason parents would not wish their students to participate in this survey please notify the school office and we will discreetly make sure that your student is not surveyed. If you have any questions, we encourage you to contact our administration. As part of our responsibility to do our part in insuring that our student"s social and emotional health needs are met, it is our goal that students feel comfortable and connected with at least one staff member. Thank you for your cooperation.
