Medstar-Lifeguard AirCare ““Medstar Air Care is a “DBA” for Med-Trans Corporation (Med-Trans), an FAA Part 135 certificate holder and operator.

For flight activation call 1-800-552-0215, If we are unable to provide specialty transport for your patient (HROB, Neonatal, Balloon Pump, or other special situation), our dispatch center will coordinate transport by other means. Accordingly, all transportation by air that is done by Medstar Air Care is, in fact, done by Med-Trans. All Medstar Air Care aircraft and flights are under the operation

al control of Med-Trans, and all Medstar Air Care operations are conducted under Med-Trans’ operations specifications (OpSpecs). Med-Trans has responsibility for ensuring all Medstar Air Care aircraft are airworthy and are in compliance with its FAA-approved inspection/maintenance program. Med-Trans has specified the conditions under which flight may be operated. All Medstar Air Care flight crew members assigned to a flight by Med-Trans are qualified, and have been trained under Med-Trans’ approved training program.” ”

Our quarterly SIM lab looked a little different for our med crews this time. Our crews braved the extreme heat (ALL DAY🥵), rain ☔️and mud while learning various skills needed in a survival situation.

We’d like to give a huge shout out to Sam & Ed with Twin Hawks Survival for our extremely informative classes on survival skills including fire starting 🔥, shelter building🏕️, water filtration & safety 💧. Our crews also had a friendly little competition to see who could gather supplies, build a fire and boil a pot of water the fastest. 🏅

Our medical simulation stations 🩺 also tested us in real world situations we encounter daily. Our patients were poolside & in the back of an ambulance. 🚑

This may have been our favorite SIM yet!

This week, Air Care 3 was proud to partner with Ascension Sacred Heart, Escambia County EMS and Emergency Communications, and Visit Pensacola as part of the Summer Safe Pensacola series to teach Stop the Bleed to members of our local hospitality community.

In an emergency, the person standing closest to the victim is often the one who makes the biggest difference before first responders arrive. Knowing how to control life-threatening bleeding can save a life in just a matter of minutes.

Participants received hands-on training in:
🩸 Recognizing life-threatening bleeding
🩸 Proper wound packing and direct pressure
🩸 Tourniquet application
🩸 Taking action with confidence until EMS arrives

We’re honored to work alongside our partners to help build a safer community for both residents and the millions of visitors who enjoy the Pensacola area each year.

Last week, unforeseen circumstances were met when attempting to land at a local facility so AC3 landed at another facility, where Mobile Fire-Rescue Department was more than willing to assist us in a stat-transfer to the receiving facility.

Okaloosa Medflight and our sky friends next door at Lifeguard Aircare 3 joined forces on scene for a dual aircraft response in Okaloosa Co this morning—bringing critical care to those who need it most, fast. Teamwork in the sky, united for the patient. Different color flight suits, same mission 💙
