As part of the 4th Street NE Street & Utility Improvement Project, the intersection of 4th Street NE and Warner Road will be closed Monday, September 14 through Friday, September 25 for watermain and storm sewer installation.

During the closure, please use the posted detour:

3rd Street NE โ†’ Pine Avenue โ†’ 4th Street NE โ†’ Ski Hill Drive โ†’ 8th Street NE

Please plan for a little extra travel time, watch for construction and detour signage, and use caution when traveling through the area. We appreciate everyoneโ€™s patience as work on this project continues!

Questions or concerns regarding the project can be directed to Bolton & Menk Engineer Bryan Drown at 218-821-5242.

Beginning October 1, the City of Staplesโ€™ odd/even parking regulations will once again be in effect from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.

๐Ÿš— Hereโ€™s how it works:
On an even-numbered date, park on the even-numbered side of the street.
On an odd-numbered date, park on the odd-numbered side of the street.

Remember, the date that matters is the date after midnight. So when parking your vehicle for the night on September 30, youโ€™ll want to park on the odd-numbered side because it will be October 1 when enforcement begins.

The regulations are in effect October 1 through April 30, regardless of whether there is snow on the ground.

School starts tomorrow!

As students and families head back to school tomorrow, please be aware that the 4th Street NE construction project is affecting normal routes to and from school.

Staples-Motley School District put together a great video explaining how to navigate the current closures. Please take a few minutes to watch the video below for more information before heading out tomorrow.

Thank you for your patience, and have a great first day back, Cardinals! โค๏ธ๐Ÿค

Weโ€™ve received some concerns about an increase in stray and feral cats in areas of Staples, so we wanted to share an important reminder: please do not feed stray or feral cats.

We know feeding a hungry cat can feel like the kind thing to do, but regularly providing food can encourage cats to remain in an area and can contribute to a growing population. When food is readily available, cats are more likely to congregate, reproduce, and establish colonies.

Larger populations can also lead to more fighting, noise, disease and parasites, property concerns, and impacts to birds and other wildlife.

๐Ÿพ Please help by not putting food out for stray or feral cats and by not providing places for them to shelter on your property.

If you own a cat, please remember that pets should be kept under control and not allowed to roam onto other people's property.

A little prevention now can help keep the stray cat population from continuing to grow.

We are aware of a water service interruption affecting customers in the 4th St NE/Warren Road area related to the 4th St NE Project.

Crews are on site and working to address the issue. If you are currently without water in this area, you do not need to call City Hall to report it. We are aware of the situation and will provide an update when we have more information.

Thank you for your patience while crews work to restore water service!

It's National Dog Day, and we're celebrating all of the four-legged friends who make life a little more fun! Whether they're your walking buddy, couch companion, professional treat tester, or all of the above, today is a great excuse to give your pup a little extra attention. โค๏ธ

While we're celebrating our dogs, it's also a good time for a quick reminder about responsible pet ownership in Staples.

๐Ÿพ Dogs AND cats kept within the City of Staples are required to be licensed with the City.

Licensing helps us identify pets and get them back home if they ever wander away. If your furry family member isn't licensed yet, stop by City Hall to get them registered.
