Austin Township A township in Mecosta County made up of about 1,600 population. Five miles southeast of Big Rapids and two miles east of US 131.

Substantially wooded, the township is home to portions of Chippewa River State Park, several Amish districts and many farms. Welcome to the Austin Township page! We are very happy to have you visit us here! We are a small rural agricultural community in West Michigan. Austin Township is situated between the Village of Stanwood to the west and the resort community of Canadian Lakes to the

Our Board Meetings are the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the Township Hall at 14132 Pierce Road, Stanwood, MI, 49346. Our fire protection is Morton Township Fire Department. We share a Cemetery with Mecosta Township. Recycling services are with Morton Township. You may find all the details of meetings and services on our website.

Austin Township wants to let our residents know that there is a scam letter going around about properties that are going into tax foreclosure on March 31. They are implying that it is your property and asking you to call them so they can help you get things caught up. Do not respond to the correspondence.
