Graduation Day is always a favorite around here, and this one is no different at all. Congratulations to these folks who achieved their certification in HVAC/Welding today!

Several graduates of these programs are out every day working in our community, and in nearby counties. They help not only rehabilitate those in our facility, but help keep them on the straight and narrow on release. Thanks Bruce, great job as always.

Today we brought our crew to the intersection of Cane Creek and North Fork to clear some growth obstructing the view for drivers turning off of North Fork Rd.

We’re here to help, so please reach out to us for assistance with any intersection that has dangerous blind spots from overgrown weeds. Our team will do our best to get to them ASAP!

A very grateful thank you today to the folks from Shiloh Church, who brought a little flavor into the PCDC this afternoon. Pulled pork, green beans, mashed potatoes, fruit and even cookies & candy definitely make the shift go by a little easier. Shiloh has been a cornerstone of our community for decades, and we're truly thankful they thought of us today.

Kind of a cool one today, as our fellas are out in the junction of South Fork and Sand Lick doing some maintenance on an old-school guardrail. Hopefully after today it'll be ready to serve our community for a few more decades.

We want to take a moment to thank Combined Public Communications for feeding us today, and for their work in setting up our new tablet system for inmate communication. With these devices, residents of our facility will maintain access to the outside world through text messages (as they had previously), but with the addition of video visits and a library of thousands of books right at their fingertips.

This will not only save time for our staff, but will open new doors of education and opportunity to those looking to use their time wisely. We couldn't be more excited for the upgrade, and we're pretty happy about the pizza too.

Last week I was fortunate enough to attend the KY Jailer's Conference in Owensboro, along with some of our staff and some of the fiscal court. These conferences offer excellent training opportunities, along with updates on new laws and procedures, and looks at new advancements in technology and security.

Thank you to the KY Jailer's Association for putting together such a great event. It's a real testament to their efforts that they can keep the attention of a state of jailers, while still making sure we learn something.
