Our guys are out in the community today helping to move a few things around for the Stanton Tourism and Convention Commission, while they're hard at work gearing up for the Bigfoot Festival in a couple of weeks. Not pictured: Bigfoot.

We're out here today helping out at the food bank, working to get some healthy vittles where they need to go. Every one of us are feeling our budgets straining right now, and it's our privilege to help lighten the load for anyone who needs it. And thank you to all of the volunteers you see in these photos who were so gracious in bringing us along, and so generous with their own time.

This year’s Bigfoot Festival will have some big shoes (or feet) to fill after the huge success last year. But don’t worry, cryptozoologists, we’re doing our part to get the park in perfect condition to have another huge year. We even had some help today. He was a little shy at first, but man can he work a shovel.

It's no secret that we love to help out the community in any way we can, but there's something truly special about being a part of recognizing Powell County's Veterans. When you're driving down Main Street, and you see those faces looking back at you from above, take a moment to truly reflect on their service to us all, and to the United States. May God bless each of them, and may God Bless America.

Thanks to the good folks from Tanner Dodge who dropped by tonight with enough burgers and dogs to feed the next two shifts! We're always eager to support local businesses, especially when they have arm loads of burgers! Thanks again, and we'll make sure it all goes to a good home.

When Danny Allen began his career working for Powell County: gas was less than a dollar a gallon, none of us had heard of the internet, and the cool kids were dancing to “U Can’t Touch This” at the Dixieland Lounge. And now 36 years later, he has decided to hang it up and enjoy his retirement.

Whether it was in a dispatch chair, on an ambulance or a firetruck, or here at the jail, Danny’s life has been dedicated to his community and we’re honored he shared it with us.

We wish you nothing but the best in the coming years! Also apologies for not getting a better picture of the cake, I guess we got a little too excited to get into it.

Big congratulations are in order for five of our residents who passed their welding/HVAC exam, graduating our in-house program! These fellas have put in the work, never missing an opportunity to better themselves, and deserve some love from our community. So we hope you'll join us in sending our well-wishes to all, and looking forward to seeing what the future holds.
