On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, Martin County Sheriff’s Office assisted Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in the ex*****on of a Federal Search Warrant at the 2000 Block of County Road C2831 in Stanton, Texas. The Federal Search Warrant was obtained by HSI following an extensive investigation into possession of illegal fi****ms.
During the search the following items were seized, 3 fi****ms, 22 pounds of explosives, and digital devices.
The following individual was arrested in connection with this investigation:
ALBERTO MONTELONGO Age:33 of Midland, Texas
Suspect is a confirmed member of the Sureño Gang.
This operation highlights our continued commitment to working with our federal law enforcement partners to proactively target and disrupt illegal activity in Martin County. We remain dedicated to ensuring the safety of our community.
This is an ongoing investigation. Additional charges may be pending.

Deputies wear a lot of hats every day—enforcing laws, responding to emergencies, and protecting the community—but it doesn’t stop there. They’re also often the ones helping citizens in unexpected situations, like Captain Stiles changing a flat tire on the side of the road pictured here.

Shoutout to Captain Stiles for his help today and getting the individual back on the road safely.

Yesterday, the Martin County Sheriffs were the recipients of a remarkable donation. I was contacted by Jonathan Madison, the owner of Cult Combat gun works in Midland, who informed me of an anonymous donation made to my office. The donation comprised 2 high-quality night vision binoculars. This generous contribution will significantly aid in our efforts to combat crime and provide a safer environment for my Deputies. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the individual responsible for this donation and to Jonathan/Cult Combat for their expertise in these items.
