Stanton WIC

Stanton WIC WIC — the Women, Infants, and Children program — is a nutrition program that helps pregnant women, new mothers, and young children eat well and stay healthy.

The WIC program joined Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties in 1995 to provide women and their families with nutrition education to promote healthy lives. Currently, our WIC services are being offered only in Orange County. Through WIC, families receive a variety of comprehensive nutrition programs, including:

• Providing nutritious supplemental food vouchers for WIC-approved

foods, such as cheese, milk, and cereals

• Helping women find prenatal care, health insurance, family planning options, and general medical care for the mother and child

• Providing nutrition education classes to promote healthy eating and active living

• Promoting and encouraging breastfeeding

• Offering clients health and nutrition education from Registered Dietitians, Nutrition Education Counselors, and Certified Lactation Educators
