Montcalm Area ISD sends a well-deserved congratulations to Dr. Lori Willett as she begins her retirement at the end of this week. We are grateful for her service to our Early College at Montcalm Community College program and the years she devoted to supporting students in the classroom. Our best wishes to Dr. Willett and our many thanks to her for choosing to be a teacher at Montcalm Area ISD.

Montcalm Area ISD and the Montcalm Transition Center celebrated Alex in a special graduation ceremony held last week in his honor. He was joined by his dad and his friends from the Young Adults Program, along with members from our MAISD Board of Education, MAISD Superintendent, teachers, and classroom staff. We send our proud congratulations to Alex for his achievement and success. We wish him the very best.

The Michigan Association for Educational Data Systems (MAEDS) held their Spring Professional Learning Day at Mid-Michigan Community College. Our very own Brandon Richmond, MAISD Director of Technology, and his colleague Damian Koob from Van Buren Intermediate School District, presented the topic of “Getting Started in K-12 Technology: A Foundation for Entry-Level Technicians” to a group of new K-12 technology staff members. This one-day event covers a variety of topics that matter to today’s technical professionals, from emerging technology and data privacy to digital learning tools and classroom innovation. Brandon and Damian serve on the MAEDS Board of Directors representing educational technology leaders from all across Michigan.

Our greenhouse at The Montcalm Area Career Center - The MACC is open to the public Tuesday and Wednesday from noon to 1:30pm and Thursday from 9-5pm for their annual plant sale. There is a great select still available. All proceeds benefit our Montcalm Area Career Center FFA program. Stop by at 1550 West Sidney Road in Sidney.
