The Mid-Michigan District Health Department is issuing two media releases regarding Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) in Clinton and Gratiot Counties.

There has been a HAB confirmed at Sleepy Hollow State Park, and a HAB suspected at Hubscher County Park.

Talk to your health care provider about your options for cervical cancer prevention, including the HPV vaccine and regular screening. You can get the HPV vaccine even if you’re already sexually active. The HPV vaccine protects against multiple cancer-causing virus strains, so if you’ve already been infected with one strain, the vaccine still protects against others.

Tooth decay in children is a widespread preventable disease. Children as young as 12 to 18 months can get cavities. Cavities in baby teeth can cause pain and even prevent children from being able to eat, speak, sleep and learn properly.
