If anybody wants yard signs to support their favorite candidate you can call Kaye Pratt at 435.840.2467. Once primaries are over, remember that yard signs need to come down for any that didn't win.

Mail-in ballots need to be postmarked by the 24th for them to count.

In-person early voting can be done at the county clerk's office from Tue 6/18 - Friday 6/21 9:00 to 4:30

In-person election day voting will be on June 25th at the county building, Grantsville Fire Station, or the Old Mill School. Open until 8pm. Not sure on start time, they didn't publish it but I would think business hours start. Our county clerk said that not a single person showed up for in-person voting in Stansbury during out last election. Many people seems to feel strongly we need to retain this but she said if the trend continues where nobody is using the service, she's going to stop paying for people to sit down there. So, if in person voting is important to you, use it or it is going away.

Drop Box is at the Stansbury Fire Station. You can use it now up until 8pm on election day.

Hi everybody. Been working a lot of hours, but I wanted to give everybody an update on what went on at convention:

The biggest news was that Phil Lyman won the convention outright with more than 2/3 of the neighborhood caucus votes over Governor Cox. It wasn't close. Remember, these voters were from all over the state representing their neighborhoods like me. The governor then basically verbally attacked the caucus voters. Then he basically threatened all of us. He said something to the effect that he has enough power that he doesn't need individual neighborhood support. It looked to me that the man really does feel entitled to the governorship. In my opinion after witnessing what I witnessed. He needs to go. He partnered with news agencies to make the caucus voters look like activists. I guarantee you I am not that. Just not impressed with an entitled prince that I am convinced doesn't care about us. That's my take. I've frankly never seen anything like it. He was the only person at convention to be booed. I did not participate in the booing but it gave a definite overall sense of the sentiment against him. I didn't feel strongly against him until I saw what I saw.

For attorney general. Derek Brown was not competitive at Caucus. He had very low voting numbers. Rachel Terry came in second. I thought she had a lot to offer and Frank Myler came out on top but didn't receive the 2/3 to be the presumptive candidate. Derek Brown now has enough signatures to stay on the ballot as well. I like Rachel a lot but in the end don't feel that she has enough support to beat Derek Brown. My wife and I were both very impressed by Frank's over the course of this campaign and will be voting for him. I personally like Derek Brown but I am against anyone who doesn't try to compete at convention for the votes of the neighborhood representatives. I don't like the signature, money, and power approach.

Kim Coleman, who was our state Vice Chair has, from what I can see done a ton for the party and the state as a whole. She is a hard worker who is very effective at organizing and getting things done. She was elected to the GOP national committee. I was glad to see it. She was the number one person to reach out to me and help me understand my role. Very accessible.

For US Senate. Trent Staggs came on very strong and won the convention vote outright with over 2/3. My favorite candidates didn't make it far at all, so I won't even bother talking about that. John Curtis got walloped. He gave up his US house seat to run for senate and I think he erred badly. John would have most likely cruised to victory again for the house. John is now on the ballot still from signatures. I honestly don't think he did a great job in his campaign. His people were, in my opinion, disorganized and just not as effective as Trent Staggs people. I really liked John's people at the Lincoln Day dinner but other than that I just didn't feel impressed by anything related to John's campaign. I will say, though, that I know a lot of people who know John and think he's amazing. Trent is making appearances in our area. Anyway, my support is behind Trent at this point. I think his energy, organization, and ability to rally support just completely outshined everyone else. Donald Trump has endorsed Trent Staggs

For US House. My wife and I are divided on this one. I really like Celeste Malloy. I've had the chance to speak with her at length. I think she is hard-working and accessible. I think she earned a full term. My wife, on the other hand likes Colby Jenkins. I like him too but not enough to unseat the woman that I think deserves to keep her seat. My wife thinks his military record, leadership, and overall great job on his campaign are impressive and that's who she voted for. Mike Lee has endorsed Colby Jenkins.

For local school board. First off, I want to say that I appreciate Fred and all of the mentoring he has done for me in learning how to be involved. That having been said, I know Randy Quarez personally and am convinced that he is the best choice. He is a military leader, is a state championship caliber coach, has endured the woke nonsense as an employee of the Tooele County Schools, and comes with solutions to problems. He has organizational and leadership experience that I know can be an asset on the school board. That's where our family's votes are going. I wish him the best. He truly knows all the problems in the district and is ready to dig in. This is not a slight on Fred. It's a good and better proposition for me. Fred is a good man and we appreciate all he does for our neighborhood.

For State Auditor. My wife and I were both impressed with Ricky Hatch. He is highly experienced and carried himself well. We though he was more impressive in every way. Tina Cannon is a spitfire but we were turned off somewhat by how she came off in her speeches. I think they are both in it for the right reasons but after researching, we think Ricky has much more experience and will be the best choice.

For state school board. My family knows Matt Hymas and believe he has been actively fighting for exactly the things we want and believe as conservatives. Knowing us is not enough for our support. I have been supervised by Matt on a project outside the party and can tell you he is an excellent listener, is in this for the right reasons, has worked his way up from the bottom, and truly will be the best choice in both my opinion and my wife's.

So, that's the convention update. It was a crazy experience. Don't even know what to say. Call me sometime if you want to hear about it. Going to be posting some upcoming things. Have a great day!

National Committeewoman. Kim Coleman is the Vice-Chair for the state party right now. I am learning very quickly that many people in politics, campaigns, organizing events, etc. are very disorganized and last minute. Kim is the opposite. She has been helpful from day one, full of helpful information, and a great mentor. That's what I know from my personal encounters with her. She is well respected among people I know. Lastly I watched the county convention speeches. Not even close. Freshman v. the Varsity. Kim is the only choice as I see it.
