The National Weather Service has confirmed that the damage in and around the Village of Stanford from Friday night was caused by an EF-1 tornado. This confirmation was made following damage assessments conducted in the days since.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the US National Weather Service Central Illinois for the early warning provided that evening—approximately 20 minutes of advance notice—which gave residents valuable time to seek shelter and prepare. That kind of lead time truly makes a difference when severe weather strikes.

In the aftermath, we’ve once again seen what makes our community strong. Neighbors helping neighbors, checking on one another, and coming together to begin the recovery process is what defines small-town resilience.

Our thoughts are with everyone impacted, and we remain committed to serving and supporting our community.

Special Note: Our outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert for danger—they are not used to signal an “all clear.” We encourage everyone to continue monitoring trusted sources such as the National Weather Service, local media, and weather apps for updates and safety information.

🚒👮‍♂️ Allin Township Fire Department - Stanford, IL & Stanford Police Department Present… Stanford Good Old Days! 🎉

Tomorrow’s the start of the weekend we’ve been waiting for! It’s time to celebrate, Stanford-style! The Stanford Good Old Days Festival is finally here and we’re inviting YOU to come out and enjoy a weekend packed with great events, awesome vendors, live music, and tons of community fun—weather permitting of course! 🎪🎶🌭

🔥 The Allin Township Fire Department will be out and about cruising the festival grounds in the UTV—give ‘em a wave!

🚓 The Stanford Police Department will also be present throughout the weekend to help keep everything running safely and smoothly.

💧It’s July in Illinois, and it’s going to be HOT! So be sure to stay hydrated, take breaks in the shade, and look out for one another.

☔️ There’s rain in the forecast, so bring your umbrellas, check the skies, and stay updated by following the official Stanford Good Old Days page for any weather-related changes.

🚨Parade Reminder: There will be multiple intersections blocked off with boats during the parade (yes, BOATS!).
