Arenac County Sheriff's Department The Arenac County Sheriff's Department is dedicated to keeping the citizens of Arenac County safe. For emergencies, dial 911.

For non-emergencies please call 989-846-3002. It is the priority of the Arenac County Sheriff's Department to provide a safe county for people to live and work. Sheriff Jim Mosciski is charged with maintaining a safe jail and providing professional law enforcement services to the residents of Arenac County. The Arenac County Jail is located in Standish and has a rated capacity of 46 beds. The Corr

ectional Officers strive daily to maintain a clean and safe jail for those inmates housed within its walls. The Arenac County Jail routinely receives 100% compliance ratings from the Michigan Department of Corrections during yearly inspections. Sheriff Mosciski continually strives to meet MDOC standards while keeping operational costs to a minimum, saving taxpayers dollars. The Arenac County Road Patrol operates 24 hours a day investigating a wide variety of crimes in Arenac County. It is our mission to provide a professional department who serves the community's needs. Deputies at the Arenac County Sheriff’s Office respond to a wide variety of calls and investigates a broad range of crimes. Deputies may be assigned to work in the School Resource Program, STING Narcotics, K-9 Unit or the Secondary Road Patrol Program as well. Sheriff Mosciski also maintains a Dive Team which responds to rescue calls on Saginaw Bay, as well as the inland lakes and rivers located in Arenac County. The Marine Patrol Program places Deputies upon the waterways of Arenac County enforcing the marine laws of our state.

*FLASH FLOOD ALERT* Please be advised that MDOT is having debris cleared from the US 23 bridge in Omer shortly. The decision was made by MDOT as they are concerned about debri built up which may compromise the bridge, and or cause collapse. Expect waters downstream to rise.

Please share: At 8am tomorrow, log jams impacting bridge integrity along state rd, and US 23 will be removed. This could cause a rise in water levels down stream. Please be aware. Deputies were out today, warning residents who reside along the river door to door. Praying the river level continues to drop.

Recently, the Arenac County Sheriff's Office personnel and the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police Department were invited by the Au Gres school district to spend their lunch break eating and visiting with students. A great visit was enjoyed by police, students, and staff.
