Our monthly coffe and donut event was sponsored by The Brook Retirement Communities. We provided spotlight for them and four of our local veteran owned small businesses. The Powerwash Man, Recon Real Estate, Joyful Junk and Melaluca were on hand to promote their offerings!

In commemoration of Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day we had almost 80 veterans and family members present to honor our local hero’s. Special recognition to committee members upon completion of their service commitment, Victor Daniels and Clifford Dunec, Jim Baker for his dedication to the American Legion Honor Guard and a very special acknowledgment to Ed Kocot for his selfless effort in spearheading the establishment of the local Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter. He dedicated countless hours scouring the community in recruitment of enough Vietnam Veterans to meet the minimum requirements to start a chapter. It is difficult to put into words the value of the work he did to help his brothers in arms.

Women Veterans take note of dates. Registration opens in February.

The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) will host the 4th Women Veterans Conference Apr. 9-11, 2026, in Grand Rapids. This premier event for women veterans is dedicated to honoring their service, fostering meaningful connections and empowering them for their future.

Registration for the Women Veterans Conference will open in February 2026.
