More than 130,000 blind veterans across the United States will be eligible to receive free Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses through a new initiative from Meta.

The program pairs this AI-powered technology with training resources developed in collaboration with the Blinded Veterans Association (BVA), alongside hands-on training and support from Meta and its partners to help veterans feel confident using the glasses in their daily lives.

The glasses can help veterans read documents, navigate their surroundings, and manage everyday tasks with greater independence.

Eligible veterans can learn more and request a pair through bva.org/glasses. Veteran organizations seeking to help eligible blinded veterans access the program can apply through TechSoup.

Paying attention to accessibility in your community is a form of civic engagement. Whether it’s ramps, crosswalks, signage, language access, or seating, noticing how public spaces work for different people helps build stronger and more inclusive communities. Sometimes civic action starts simply by observing and caring.
