Today is Ageism Awareness Day.

Ageism affects people of all ages, but its impact on older adults can be especially harmful, influencing how they are perceived, treated, and valued in our communities. Ageism Awareness Day is an opportunity to challenge stereotypes about aging and recognize the many contributions older adults make every day.

At SilverSource, we believe every older adult deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. We are proud to support older adults and to advocate for a future where aging is viewed not through outdated assumptions, but through the lens of experience, resilience, and possibility.

Today, we invite you to join the conversation and help us build a more age-inclusive community for all.

SilverSource is proud to be a recipient of a 2026 Fish Church Micro-Grant.

Food insecurity remains a serious challenge for many older adults in our community. In a recent SilverSource client survey, 15% of respondents reported not having enough food to eat.

This grant will help SilverSource provide emergency food assistance to older adults in Fairfield County, helping ensure they have access to nutritious food when they need it most.

Thank you, Fish Church, for helping us address food insecurity and support the health and well-being of our older neighbors.

SilverSource was proud to join fellow community organizations at today's Veterans Stand Down in Stamford.

The Stand Down provides veterans with access to services, resources, and support, all in one location. It's an important opportunity to connect those who served our country with the assistance they may need, from healthcare and benefits information to housing and basic necessities.

We were there to share how SilverSource helps older adults, including veterans, stay safe, healthy, and independent in their homes by providing access to health care, financial assistance, benefits navigation, and other essential supports.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today's event a success, and especially to the veterans we were privileged to meet.

There was a lot of learning, laughter, and great questions at Viola's Place this week as we hosted our first Digital Basics workshop: Getting Comfortable with Devices.

With the support of our program team, seniors practiced navigating smartphones and computers, learned the how to connect to Wi-Fi, explored how to download apps, and discussed how to recognize scams and fake apps.

Technology can open doors to information, services, relationships, and independence. We're proud to provide a supportive environment where older adults can build confidence with tools that have become part of everyday life.

Thank you to everyone who joined us.
