We are super excited to celebrate the official opening of the 10 newly renovated tennis courts at Scalzi Park! 🎾

This project, which includes six new pickleball courts, was funded in part by a $200,000 U.S. Tennis Association of New England Tennis Venue Services grant.

Additional upgrades include blended court lines, new fencing, and LED lighting, ensuring these courts are modern, accessible, and welcoming spaces for residents of all ages to enjoy.

🚨 May 14th Road Closure Alert 🚨

Washington Blvd will be closed southbound between Cold Spring Road and Main Street on Thursday, May 14th from 6:45pm to 8:30pm for the Stamford Boys and Girls Club 5k run.

There will be no East/West traffic on the following roads through Washington Blvd: Broad/W. Broad St, North St, Hoyt St/Linden Pl, and Bridge Street.

Northbound Washington Blvd will remain open.

On Saturday, April 25th from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Stamford Police Department (725 Bedford Street) The Stamford Police Department CT will host its drug take back!

Residents can dispose of any RX drug, over-the-counter drug, (Aspirin, Tylenol, etc.) including pet medication.

No liquids, creams or needles.

On Saturday, April 25 from 10 AM to 2 PM is National Drug Takeback Day. The Stashed Away trailer will be at 725 Bedford Street at the Stamford Police Station. The trailer is a replica of a teenager’s bedroom and shows all the common hiding spots where drugs and alcohol may be kept. See how to recognize hidden substances and dispose of them safely to protect your home and community. If you cannot attend the event, you may always drop off medication at the front desk of the police station.

🚨 A reminder for tomorrow 🚨

The Stamford Police Department is excited to partner with the Stamford Run Club as they host a Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K right here in our city on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

This event is a great opportunity to bring our community together, and we are proud to support it. Officers will be assigned throughout the course to help ensure a safe, smooth, and enjoyable experience for runners, spectators, and residents alike.

Please take a moment to review the attached Road Closure Notice and plan accordingly if you will be traveling in the area during event hours.
We look forward to a fun, safe, and successful community event and will continue to share updates as we get closer to race day.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will be milling and resurfacing a portion of Long Ridge Road starting this week.

The project is scheduled to begin today, Sunday, April 12 and be completed by Thursday, April 23, 2026. The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.51-mile segment of Long Ridge Road (Route 104) beginning just south of Riverbank Road to the New York/Connecticut State line.

Motorists can expect lane closures of Long Ridge Road (Route 104) from just South of Riverbank Road to the New York/Connecticut State line. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday night to Friday morning.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
