The Stamford Police Department would like to recognize the exceptional work of Major Crime Squad โ€œC,โ€ led by Detective John McClafferty, for their critical role in a long-term investigation that contributed to the federal arrest of a Bronx man charged with distributing fentanyl that allegedly resulted in three fatal overdoses, including the overdose death of a Stamford resident.

Through relentless investigative efforts, attention to detail, and strong partnerships with the Drug Enforcement Administration, the New York City Police Department, the U.S. Attorneyโ€™s Office for the Southern District of New York, the Port Chester Police Department, and the New York State Police, Detective McClafferty and Major Crime Squad โ€œCโ€ helped build a case that ultimately led to federal charges carrying potential life imprisonment.

This case demonstrates the dedication of Stamford detectives who work tirelessly behind the scenes to seek justice for victims and their families while holding those responsible for bringing deadly fentanyl into our communities accountable.
