Did you know Virginia is one of four states recognizing the 3rd Monday in February as "George Washington Day?" Stafford follows the state and offices and courts will be closed on Feb. 19. In 2010, this kid sent out 30,000 reassessment notices. Today we are mailing over 50,000 notices to Stafford County property owners.

Values are up on average 13% since our last reassessment of 2022.

As a reminder, the Stafford County Treasurer office and DMV Select are closed today due to the turn over audit required between Treasurers. They will reopen on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. See below for more details from our newly elected Treasurer Mike Sienkowski for Stafford Treasurer:

Payments can still be dropped off at the administration building drop boxes or can be made online and the Commissioner of the Revenue will be open to help you with account questions and adjustments.

Stafford Gov. will be closed for the holidays on Fri., Dec. 22, Mon., Dec. 25, and Jan. 1. The Regional Landfill and Belman Road Convenience Center will close at noon on Dec. 24, all day on Dec. 25, and all day on Jan. 1, 2024. Admin. offices will be closed Dec. 22 thru Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Stafford County 2nd Half 2023 Business Property, Personal Property & Real Estate tax bills have been mailed! They’re due on December 5th. However, the Board of Supervisors approved an extension until December 15th before penalties and interest are applied.
