As we wrap up our series highlighting the honorees from the August 19, 2026 First Responders Appreciation Breakfast, we are proud to recognize a true lifetime of service.

A Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Sheriff Christopher Giles of the King George Sheriff’s Office.

After 36 years of dedicated public service, including 34 years with the King George Sheriff’s Office and prior service in the United States Marine Corps, Sheriff Giles has made a lasting impact on our community.

Throughout his career, he has led with integrity, commitment, and genuine dedication to the people of King George. As Sheriff, he worked to strengthen the connection between law enforcement and the community while supporting and mentoring the deputies and leaders who served alongside him.

His greatest legacy is not simply the years he served, but the people he encouraged, the relationships he built, and the stronger organization he leaves behind.

As Sheriff Giles retires, King George County thanks him for a lifetime of service and leadership. His dedication has made a difference in countless lives and will continue to be felt throughout our community for years to come.

Congratulations, Sheriff Giles, and thank you for 36 years of service to our community!

Team RRJ was proud to flex some serious muscle at the Dulles Day Plane Pull to support the incredible athletes of Special Olympics Virginia!

Pulling a 164,000-pound aircraft takes more than just strength—it takes teamwork, community, and heart. We couldn't have crossed the finish line without the incredible public safety partners who stood shoulder-to-shoulder with us.

A couple of weeks ago, the FailSafe-ERA team had the opportunity to meet with Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) leaders to discuss reentry, the growing number of individuals returning to our region, and opportunities for greater collaboration.

This week, the conversation continued closer to home. We welcomed members of the Rappahannock Regional Jail (RRJ) leadership team to FailSafe-ERA for a meaningful conversation about strengthening our partnership and expanding our reach within the jail.

Through our growing partnership with RRJ, we are looking forward to reaching more men and women with programming that promotes cognitive and behavioral change, personal accountability, restorative thinking, family connection, and preparation for a successful return to the community.

And we know all too well that incarceration impacts more than the individual, it impacts the entire family. Family members often have many questions, concerns, and uncertainties as they navigate the incarceration of someone they love. That is why we are especially excited that our expanded partnership now includes a Family Liaison serving as a crucial bridge of communication.

From our recent conversation with VADOC leadership to this week’s meeting with RRJ leadership, we are encouraged by the willingness to work together. No single organization or agency can do this work alone and partnerships like these move us forward.

Congratulations to our two newest Right Road Reentry facilitators from Lifepoint Worship

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the successful completion of their first Getting Started Interactive Journaling session at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

By leading discussions centered on cognitive-behavioral change, we are empowering men and women with the tools to challenge unhealthy thinking patterns, make positive decisions, and build a foundation for lasting transformation.
