September 11, 2001 is a day that we will never forget. Stafford firefighters were honored to join our brothers and sisters of West Stafford Fire Department and Stafford Ambulance for a memorial service to remember those who were lost that day, 25 years ago.

In the evening, we gathered with a number of area fire departments at First Responders Night at Stafford Speedway. The first responder community is a tight knit family and moments like these allow us to come together, share stories and reflect on how lucky we are to serve our communities.

The Tolland County Dive Team, including members of Stafford Fire Department, are currently running a training drill at Staffordville Beach. Firefighters will be at the lake throughout Wednesday evening.

Back in 1938 the Stafford Fire Department No.1 started to sponsor Troop 50 the only person I know in the photo is Ben Muzio (third one in on the left - top row) if anyone knows any of the other troop members in the photo, please let us know, Thank you

On Tuesday, the town of Stafford participated in a statewide emergency preparedness exercise run by the state's Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. The town was represented by department heads and emergency services (including Stafford Fire Department). This drill was held at the town's Emergency Operations Center, and included working through a scenario of a major winter storm.
