This week, Stafford Library has THREE music programs coming up! On Thursday the 20th at 6pm, we welcome Mike the Drummer for an ALL-AGES drum demonstration and interactive drum circle. Bring your drums and percussion instruments.
Then, Saturday, August 22 is Stafford Porchfest! Stafford Library is proud to host the String Sisters+ (a 10+ piece string ensemble) at 12pm. We'll also have our own Stafford Library Unplugged acoustic jam/open mike at 2pm. Both events will be under our tent outdoors (weather permitting). No registration required for Porchfest.

This Saturday (8/15) is the end of our Summer Reading Program. As is our custom, we wrap up with a fun Ice Cream Social. Join us at 1pm for some sweet frozen treats! (Let us know if you have any allergies so we can accommodate everyone.)

Don't forget to log your reading and bid on Summer Reading prizes on ReadSquared! A few new prizes were added late in the program, so check carefully. Logging your reading and bidding on prize raffles ends at midnight (11:59pm) on Saturday (8/15)!

Stafford Library has two America 250 programs happening on this rainy day (8/3).
At 2pm, master calligrapher Debbie Reelitz will be here to teach elementary age children colonial style cursive and design a special signature inspired by famous historical figures from the American Revolution.
Ms. Reelitz will also be here at 6pm to give adults and teens a more in-depth look at the creation of the document along with the opportunity to write in script, use a dip nib and ink and scribe a line from the Declaration of Independence.
Both programs are 90m long and are hands on.

It was an absolutely perfect night on the lawn at Stafford Library tonight. The Windham Concert Band performed a a broad repertoire of songs that included patriotic marches and a salute to our military. The weather was gorgeous and everyone had a wonderful time. Thank you to the WBC, its director Kathryn Niemasik, and to the Stafford Events and Celebrations Committee.

There are still spaces open for tonight's "Revolutionary CT" program, presented by the CT Museum of History and Culture and sponsored by a grant from the Scripps Family Fund for Education and the Arts.

Join us next week for a Stafford Library first! The Windham Concert Band will be setting up on our lawn for a fabulous summer performance, with a repertoire that includes patriotic music. Thursday, July 23 at 6pm! Be sure to bring chairs or blankets. (Rain Date: Friday, July 24th)
