West Stafford Fire Department The West Stafford FD is located at 144 West Stafford Road in Stafford, CT WSFD is a full service fire station staffed entirely by volunteer personnel.

Serving our residents since 1946 The West Stafford Fire Department is Fire'Rescue/EMS agency located at 144 West Stafford Road in Stafford, Connecticut. It is also the site of Stafford's September 11, 2001 Memorial.

On September 5, 2026, 44House, while returning to quarters was dispatched to to the area of Old Springfield and Worthington Road (On the Somers border) for a "Lost Hiker"who was reporting low blood sugar"

The hiker was following a trail (Long abandoned road) from Somers, and was in contact with the dispatch center.

44House responded with Service 144 and UTV 144, the Stafford Ambulance, Stafford FD #1 personnel the Somers Paramedic and Connecticut State Police includung a tracking K9.

UTV 144 was able to locate the hiker on the trail and transport them out of the woods. After a workup on scene, the hiker was able to return home without any ill effect....

On August 21 at 1704 hours, 44House was dispatched for a 1 vehicle MVA with injuries, pole and wires down.

The lone occupant/operator was transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The 44House Chili Masters have been hard at work since 0700 prepping, loading up and are now cooking up their award winning chili at the Farmngton Polo Grounds as part of the Dream Ride Experience sponsored by the Hometown Foundation.

This morning, July 22nd, 44Truck visited the Summer Rec program to assist some future engineers with their project....

The mission given to the children was to design and construct, out of common items, a device to enable an egg to survive a drop from height without breaking,

Approximately 40 submissions, ranging from parachutes to padded containers (Or a combination of the above) were then dropped approximately 40 feet and inspected to see if their egg had survived the drop.

There was one submission that was a success!

All participants are to be commended on their ingenuity and work put into these designs!!

Yesterday, July 14, 2026 at 1619 Hours, 44House along with our Stafford #1 partners and Stafford Ambulance and a Somers ...

Yesterday, July 14, 2026 at 1619 Hours, 44House along with our Stafford #1 partners and Stafford Ambulance and a Somers Paramedic were dispatched to Conklin Road for a person lying in the roadway... C44 was on scene in minutes and ascertained that the injured person was dragged down the driveway by a family vehicle (unoccupied).

The person received serious injuries and Command requested Lifestar on a "Modified Scene" call to the helipad at Johnson Memorial.

The injured party was transported to a Hartford Area Level One Trauma Center.

The incident is under investigation by the Connecticut State Police.
